Electrical & Automation Coordinator (m/f/d) - Job - Career at Botres

Electrical & Automation Coordinator (m/f/d)

Coordination instead of programming

“I don’t do the programming myself – but I make sure everything works. And when something doesn’t, I notice it immediately.”

You don’t need to program PLCs or software yourself.

But you do need to understand when something isn’t working as intended – and bring the right people together to fix it.

If you enjoy keeping an overview, structuring complex topics, and thinking practically about technology, this could be exactly the right role for you.

What you can expect

You will act as the link between Engineering, Site Management, and external automation partners.

The goal is simple:
Clear processes, clear responsibilities, and plants that operate as intended.

You coordinate – not from a distance, but with technical understanding and a strong eye for detail.

Your Day-to-Day Work
  • Coordinate external automation and programming companies
  • Plan and structure tasks and workflows within the EIC (Electrical, Instrumentation & Control) scope
  • Ensure that:
    • everyone knows what they are responsible for
    • interfaces between disciplines are clearly defined
  • Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and verify compliance with requirements
  • Be the person who recognizes: “This isn't right yet – we need to improve it before moving forward.”

Weekly Activities
  • Coordination meetings with Engineering, Site Management, and external partners
  • Managing open items and technical clarifications
  • Preparing and following up on tests, inspections, acceptance procedures, and deliverables

What is automated – and what isn't
  • No in-house programming (PLC, software development, etc.)
  • Strong focus on coordination, structuring, and quality assurance
  • Hands-on understanding of industrial plants and electrical systems

What you should bring

Must-Have
  • Technical background, ideally in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Automation Engineering
    • Mechatronics
  • Ability to understand and challenge technical concepts
  • Structured way of working, even when multiple stakeholders are involved
  • Clear and confident communication, even in difficult situations
  • Excellent English skills (minimum B2)
Nice-to-Have
  • Very good Spanish and/or German skills
  • Experience in EIC / I&C / industrial plant engineering
  • Experience coordinating external partners or multidisciplinary interfaces
  • Experience with FATs, commissioning, or plant start-ups
What is not enough
  • Pure theoretical knowledge without practical application
  • Uncertainty when dealing with external partners and stakeholders

What we offer

“We’re still growing – and that’s exactly why you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact.”

  • You are not just a coordinator – you are part of the solution
  • Direct collaboration with:
    • Engineering
    • Site Management
    • External contractors and suppliers
  • Fast decision-making when decisions are needed

Development & Career Opportunities

This role is not fixed and can develop towards:

  • Senior EIC Coordinator
  • Technical Lead / Lead Engineering Coordination
  • Project Management
  • Commissioning Management

What matters most is how you contribute and grow with the role.

And beyond that?
  • Flexible working hours without rigid core times
  • Home office possible (typically one day per week or depending on project phase)
  • International projects and collaboration
  • Direct impact on real industrial facilities – not just paper engineering
  • Flat hierarchies and fast decisions
  • Team lunches and real collaboration instead of corporate bureaucracy

Compensation

For this position, we offer a gross annual salary starting from €55,000 (full-time).

The actual salary depends on:

  • Your technical background
  • Your coordination experience
  • The level of responsibility you take on

A higher salary is naturally possible depending on your qualifications and experience.

In one sentence

If you understand technology but prefer coordinating and keeping the big picture in view rather than programming yourself – and you make sure everything works in the end – you'll fit right in with us.
